We've created histograms showing the amount of "talk time" and "connection time" spent on each successful call. As a point of reference, bear in mind that the average recording length is 358.165 seconds. Talk time is the amount of time that the participants are talking (after connection), before recording has begun, plus the recording time. Connection time is the amount of time from the point that the caller's pin is validated until the call ends.

Call collection is driven largely by the availability schedules generated during participant recruitment. This graph shows the nominal number of available participants per 1 - hour timeslot for each day of the week. The actual number of available participants is impacted by caller activity (participants who have already made a call in the past 24 hours), non-participation (participants who are deselected by failing to answer during when called), and total platform activity (non-participation will result in deselection at different rates depending on the number of attempted calls at a given time). This graph also shows the number of successful calls per timeslot (pink line).

This graph shows the cumulative number of calls collected since Nov. 12, 1999. The target number of calls to be collected is 1000. The black line represents the moving average of calls collected.

This graph shows a histogram of the Call In Progress and Skip Until Time entries into the database. These fields are updated each time a participant either calls into the platform or is called by the platform and actively accepts/rejects a call. A high, narrow peak correlates with a high level of activity on the platform.

The following graph shows the percentages of participants broken down by the number of calls made, received, and total.

This graph shows the breakdown of participants by age
