To begin working in segmentation, open up an xterm and, at the prompt, choose one of the following tables and select a "source" (abc, cnn, pri, voa):
eg. %tdtseg cnn
tdtseg
to display files available for segmentation
tdtseg -a to display
files for second passing
tdtseg -c to access
complete list of files
File status in segmentation:
Available:
Files ready to be segmented
Marking:
Files in the process of being segmented
Done:
Files segmented ready to be double-checked
Second-passed: Last stage of segmentation. The
files have been
double-checked and are ready for event-labelling
fdch:
ABC only - segmented file needs to be matched to fdch document
Segmentation
Insertion Keys (Inserting
timetamps, moving in xwaves and listening to the document, etc.)
Labeling
To
activate the labeling interface, open a netscape session , and in an xterm
enter
%tdtlab
The interface takes a small amount of time to start. Choosing "Browsing" mode allows you to examine previously annotated articles, and use "Production" mode to start annotating new articles.
Rejecting articles
The interface provides a reject field for articles that
fall into one (or more) of these conditions.
