Here is some information for the TDT Workshop, July 30-31.

People should come to lobby at 70 Fawcett Street, and ask for
Richard Schwartz or Marie Curley.
The receptionist will be aware there is a large group coming.
Parking: Everyone should park opposite the building. The receptionist
will need to know the type of car and registration number.

The workshop is in Room 15/300.
Once you're inside BBN, you'll be escorted to the conference room.
But just in case you're on your own:
From the desk at 70 Fawcett Street,
Turn left down the first corridor.
Go through the next crossing corridor with brown tile floors.
(That's one of the places where the bathrooms are.)
Proceed halfway down the next corridor to the stairs.
Go up 1 flight, and through the doors on your left.
You're there.

Meals and stuff:
We will have a projector that should be able to display PC screens.
Meals:
Breakfast: Will be served at 8:00 am both days just outside
the conference room. Breakfast will include coffee, tea,
bagles and cream, and some muffins.
Beverages around 3pm
Lunch: Will be in the BBN/GTE Cafeteria. It's right next to
the 70 Fawcett Street entrance. Actually, we might not want
to go there right at 12:00, since it will take a while to go
through the line. A little earlier (like 11:40) or later (like
12:30) might be much better.
4. Dinner: Dinner at Marino's Thursday night July 30 at 7PM.
Directions will be given out the workshop.

Directions from Logan Airport to the Charles Hotel:
Exit Logan Airport and follow the signs to Sumner Tunnel/Boston. Coming
out of the tunnel, take a right and go up the ramp on to ROUTE 93 NORTH.
Stay on this for only two exits. Take the STORROW DRIVE EXIT, #26. Do not
follow the "Cambridge", signs, but continue along the Charles River on
Storrow Drive West for approximately 4 miles. (For landmarks: you will
continue past the "Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge" exit and the DOUBLETREE
GUEST SUITE HOTEL.) Shortly after the DOUBLETREE GUEST SUITE HOTEL, you
will see a right-hand exit marked "Harvard Square -Cambridge". Take the
exit and follow it up to the right and across the Charles River. After you
cross the bridge, go straight through the first traffic light (Memorial
Drive) and turn left at the next light - Eliot Street. At the next
intersection, Eliot becomes Bennett Street (you have no choice but to bear
left on to Bennett) and you will find the hotel on your left. Guest Valet
Parking will be with the Doorman in the driveway on your left. Visitor and
Public Parking is located below the hotel with the entrance at the far end
of Bennett Street on the left.
Directions from Charles Hotel to GTE, 70 Fawcett St. Cambridge, 02138
Go back down Bennett Street to Eliot Street and turn right on JFK drive.
At the light turn right on Memorial Drive.
Follow Memorial drive until the end and bear right.
There will be a fork where going to the left goes toward Watertown
and going to the right goes toward Fresh Pond Parkway and Rt. 2.
Go to the right toward Rt. 2. Stay on Fresh Pond Parkway through 2
lights until you come to a rotary where Concord Avenue cross.
Go 90 degrees around the rotary onto Concord Ave.
Very shortly there is another rotary. Go 180 degrees around,
staying on Concord Ave.
Turn right on Fawcett Street right after a red brick office building.

Directions from Logan Airport to Sheraton Commander Hotel:
Exit Logan Airport via the Sumner Tunnel. Exit the tunnel onto 93 North.
Take exit #26 off 93 onto Storrow Drive West following signs to Newton and
exit at Harvard Square. Go over the Charles River onto JFK Street. Enter
Harvard Square keeping the Harvard Coop on your left and Out of Town News
on your right. Stay in left lane and make U-turn at the lights. After
U-turn make first right onto Garden Street. The Sheraton Commander is
number 16 Garden Street.
Directions from Sheraton Commander Hotel to GTE, 70 Fawcett Street
1 Start out going Northwest on Garden St. towards Berkeley Street
2 Turn left onto Concord Avenue
3 Turn slight left onto roundabout unnamed Rd.
4 Turn slight left onto Concord Ave/US-3N/RT-16E
5 Concord Ave/US-3N/RT-16 E becomes US-3 N/RT-16 E.
6 Turn right onto roundabout unnamed Rd.
7 Turn slight right onto Concord Avenue
8 Turn right onto Fawcett Street
(Basically, once you're on Concord Ave., you go in a straight line,
through 2 rotaries, and then turn onto Fawcett Street.)

Directions from Logan Airport to Susse Chalet
Follow the Sumner Tunnel out of Logan Airport to 93N. Follow 93 North to
exit 31 (Mystic Valley Parkway). This is the local name for this stretch
of Rte 16W. Follow 16W for about 3 miles. Be warned-it's a very winding
road. After you cross the intersection of 16W and Massachusetts Ave., get
into the right lane. The next right turn is for Rte. 2W. Rte 2 is a
divided highway and the hotel is located on the opposite side (Rte. 2E).
Pass the hotel and take exit 60, which is Lake Street. At the bottom of
the ramp, turn left at the lights and cross underneath Rte. 2. Next set of
lights, turn left again (the on ramp for Rte. 2E). Hotel on right.
Directions from Susse Chalet to GTE, 70 Fawcett Street
1. Start out going West on Concord TPKE/Rt. 2 W.
2. Take the LAKE St. exit, exit number 60, towards E. ARLINGTON/BELMONT.
3. Keep LEFT at the fork in the ramp
4. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto Lake St.
5. Take the Rt. 2 East ramp
6. Merge onto CONCROD TPKE/ Rt. 2E
7. Turn RIGHT onto ALEWIFE BROOK PKY/US-3S/RT-16 W
8. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto roundabout UNNAMED RD.
9. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto Concord Avenue
10. Turn RIGHT onto FAWCETT Street

Take Sumner Tunnel to Route 93 North, to Storrow Drive West. From Downtown
Boston, keep to right side of Storrow Drive West, following signs for
Newton and Arlington. Take Mass Pike/Central Square exit. Keep left on
the exit ramp and make a wide left U-turn at the traffic light. Hotel
entrance will be on your right.
Directions from Doubletree to GTE 70 Fawcett Street
1. Start out going South on SOLDEIRS FIELD RD.
2. SOLDIERS FIELD RD becomes STORROW DR.
3. Take the ramp towards BOSTON UNIVERSITY
4. Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp
5. Merge ont UNIVERSITY RD.
6. Turn RIGHT onto COMMONWEALTH AVE/US-20/RT-2W
7. Turn RIGHT onto BOSTON UNIVERSITY BRG/RT-2
8. BOSTON UNIVERSITY BRG/RT-2 becomes RT-2
9. RT-2 becomes UNNAMED RD.
10. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto roundabout UNNAMED RD.
11. Turn RIGHT onto BROOKLINE ST.
12. You will come to an intersection where there are several different
streets all called BROOLKINE ST. Make sure you turn RIGHT to go onto the
correct one.
13. Turn LEFT onto PUTNAM AVE.
14. PUTNAM AVENUE becomes UNNAMED RD
15. Turn LEFT onto MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE
16. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto roundabout MASSACHUSETTS AVE/RT-2A W.
17. Turn LEFT onto roundabout UNNAMED RD.
18. Turn LEFT onto roundabout MASSACHUSETTS AVE/RT-2AW.

Directions from Logan Airport to The Best Western
Exit the airport through the Sumner Tunnel. Take 93North and stay in the
right lane. Take exit 26 to Storrow Drive West which runs along the
Charles River. Follow it past the Harvard exits to Fresh Parkway, Route 2
West. The hotel will be on your right at the 2nd rotary, on Fresh Pond
Parkway.
Directions from The Best Western to GTE. 70 Fawcett Street
1. Turn RIGHT onto roundabout UNNAMED RD
2. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto CONCORD AVENUE
3. Turn RIGHT onto Fawcett STREET

The Best Western is on Concord Ave.
Just come out of it, turning right and stay on Concord Ave.
(The traffic is hellish here. As soon as you turn right you
need to get into the left lane to go around the rotary.)
Stay on Concord Ave. with the Ground Round on your right.
Turn right onto Fawcett Street.

Directions from Logan Airport to GTE, 70 Fawcett Street
1. Take the airport exit road to Route 1A South. Signs will say, "93 to
Boston" and "Boston via Tunnel." Bear left onto Route 1A South
2. Use Sumner Tunnel to Boston, at the tunnel exit, follow signs to Route
93 South
3. Follow Route 93 South 1.4 miles through Boston's financial district to
the exit for the Mass Pike (Route 90).
4. Follow the Mass Pike west 3 miles to Exit 20- Alston/Cambridge. Exit
toward Cambridge/Somervile, and follow signs to Soldiers Field Road. Turn
left onto Soldiers Field Road toward Newton/Arlington
5. Follow Soldiers Field Road 1 mile. Keep right for the turnoff to "Fresh
Pond Parkway Routes 2 and 3/Arlington."1
6. The Fresh Pond Parkway will take you across the Charles River. Follow
the Parkway 1.8 miles to the second rotary (Concord Avenue - West). There
is a Ground Round Restaurant at the north-west side of the rotary.
7. Turn off the Parkway left (toward Belmont) onto Concord Avenue West.
You'll see two brick office bulidings on the right.
8. The first building is at the corner of Concord Avenue and Fawcett
Street, take this right to 70 Fawcett Street.
