Researchers tracking J.J. the whale say she is making good progress.
The gray whale was released into the Pacific ocean Tuesday. Scientists
say J.J. is diving and swimming within a 15-mile radius of the area
where she was set free. The whale lost one of her tracking transmitter
packs Thursday. Researchers say a second pack still will be able to
track her moves.
