VOA19980504.1800.1381 NEWS TRANSCRIPT The man known for years only as the mysterious Unabomber has been sentenced to life in prison for an eighteen month string, or an eighteen year string of bombings that killed at least three people nationwide. With the relatives of his victims looking on, a judge in Sacramento, California, sentenced Theodore Kaczynski to four life sentences without the possibility of parole. The judge said Kaczynski committed unspeakable and monstrous crimes for which he shows utterly no remorse. The Unabomber had been on the FBI's most wanted list until a tip by his brother led authorities to his capture in a remote Montana cabin two years ago. He agreed to plead guilty to the bombings in exchange for avoiding a possible death sentence.
