TDT Interfaces

Segmentation:

Before working in segmentation, check the assignments that have been prepared.

Then open an xterm,

enter

%tdt3seg If you are working on Mandarin,

%tdt3seg man to select a particular source (abc, cnn, pri, voa): eg. %tdt3seg cnn

tdtseg             to display files available for segmentation
tdtseg -a       to display files for second passing
tdtseg -c       to access complete list of files
 

File status in segmentation:

Available:               Files ready to be segmented
Marking:                 Files in the process of being segmented
Done:                       Files segmented ready to be double-checked
Second-passed:   Last stage of segmentation. The files have been
                                   double-checked and are ready for event-labelling
fdch:                         ABC only - segmented file needs to be matched to fdch document

Segmentation Insertion Keys        (Inserting timetamps, moving in xwaves and listening to the document, etc.)
 

Labeling

To activate the labeling interface, open a netscape session , and in an xterm enter

%tdt3lab

The interface takes a small amount of time to start. 
Remember to read through the topic explications again!
Choosing "Browsing" mode allows you to examine previously annotated articles, and use "Production" mode to start annotating new articles.

Rejecting articles - Example
