Subject: Hierarchical Topic Detection

Folks,
I'd like to start a dialogue with anyone interested in hierarchical
topic detection: methods and metrics. Are there any interested
parties? At the last TDT meeting, we discussed several possibilities
(See the attached powerpoint slides Rich Schwartz and I developed).
We (Audrey Le and I) have begun some initial experiments by implementing
a DAG structure that permits cross linking of topics (option 1 from the
foils) and an infrastructure to compare the reference and system
generated DAGs.
Before we go to the effort of formalize this new evaluation protocol and
produce exportable code, I'm looking for some customers to work with.
Anyone interested?
