Subject: list administration issues

Folks:
First, I'd like to express my regrets at the less-than-ideal behavior of
our majordomo. As the list owner, I receive "bounced" messages, which
are sent to tdt-distrib from email addresses that are not recognized by
the majordomo as subscribed members of the list, and when these are
valid messages, I forward them myself to the list. I share your dislike
of the inconvenience, but this is a small price to pay for the benefit
of protecting you all from the pandemic of viral emails that have been
circulating on the net recently (some of which have been addressed to
tdt-distrib).
Second, I'd like to point out that another function I perform as list
owner is cleaning up expired subscriptions: email addresses on the list
that no longer work, for whatever reason. Below is a list of addresses
that have raised "User unknown" errors during the recent flurry of
messages, and I have removed these addresses from the list. If anyone
knows any of these people, knows how to contact them now, and thinks
they may still be interested in TDT email discussions, please take a
moment to inform them that they should re-subscribe with a current email
address.
