We have assembled a set of Arabic resources for this year's TREC
Arabic information retrieval evaluation that you can access at
http://www.glue.umd.edu/~dlrg/clir/trec2002/
There are two sets of resources that you might find useful there -
a set of standard resources that we ask alll TREC participants to use (to
the extent compatible with their systems) and a larger set of pointers to
people and resources that participating teams might want to explore. In
the first category, two of our resources (a bilingual dictionary and a
translation lexicon built from a large parallel corpus) are not yet ready,
but they should become available in the next week.
We would welcome comments on these resources and pointers to
additional resources from TDT teams - there is significant potential for
synergy between TREC and TDT this year given the overlap in the document
collections (although TDT teams need to be careful not to use
"future" documents from TREC in their training, of course).
