TREC CLIR trackers:
The Arabic/English resources for the TREC CLIR track are all now
available for download on the track Web page:
http://www.glue.umd.edu/~dlrg/clir/trec2002/
On the resources page there you will find:
1) A complete rekeyed Arabic/English bilingual dictionary (thanks to David
Smith at Tufts!)
2) An extensive set of translation probabilities derived from the UN
Arabic/Englsh parallel text collection (thanks to Alex Fraser and Jinxi
Xu at BBN!)
3) A light stemmer for Arabic (thanks to Kareem Darwish at Maryland and
Leah Larkey at U Mass!)
4) A reorganized and updated set of links to other Arabic resources that
might be useful (thanks to all of you who pointed out how last year's
version of this could be improved!)
I expect that TDT teams that want to work on Arabic (beyond just
using the provided English translations) will also find these useful, so I
have cc'd the TDT list as well.
Please let us know if there is anything else that you all
need!
