Folks,
The deadline for committing to participate in the Fall TDT evaluation
was August 14th. I've gotten commitments from three sites although I
suspect others are planning to participate. If you are going to
participate, please send an email to me stating the tasks you plan on
participating in and a shipping address (including a phone number) for
the evaluation materials.
Since many of you are new to this years evaluation, I'd like to remind
people of the ground rules for participation in an open TDT evaluation.
They are:
- On receiving the evaluation data the registered site will process the
entire test set in accordance with the evaluation plan and return the
system output files to NIST by the end of the evaluation period, October
1, 2002.
- The site agrees to be represented at the TDT Evaluation workshop to be
held at NIST, November 18-19, 2002, and to openly discuss the evaluation
system used.
- The site agrees to not publicly compare its results with the results
of other participants. Sites are free to do what they wish with their
own results, but may neither redistribute nor publish results from
another site without that site's explicit permission.
