Folks,

I just wanted to update you on the release of the TDT-04 evaluation
data. You will be receiving the source data on Monday (Tuesday for the
foreign sites) directly from the LDC.

The topic annotation is nearly completed so the index files will not be
released until Tuesday September 3rd (at the earliest). The LDC is
working on generating the top-ranked, off-topic stories each language
and topic. Most of this work is completed, but they'll need the extra
working day to complete it.

Given the relaxed evaluation schedule, I do not plan on moving the due
date for submissions in light of this delay.
